ComfortDelGro Cabcharge (CDC) is the largest private bus operator in NSW. Its subsidiaries Hillsbus, Westbus and Hunter Valley Buses provide passenger transport services to Western Sydney and the Hunter Valley.

Business Challenge

Without a Content Management System, the management of CDC’s 8 separate bus company websites was becoming increasingly difficult. Information was hard to find and the existing sites did not adhere to accessibility standards.

The administration and maintenance of bus timetables was also an onerous task. Multiple access databases were being used to manage timetable information and making updates or changes was complex and time-consuming.

Solution

Using a single instance of IgnitionSuite Web Content Management Platform, BlueArc consolidated CDC’s multiple websites into one consistent website. IgnitionSuite allows CDC content authors to easily create, publish and manage online information for each bus company sub-site – without the need for technical skill.

BlueArc also custom built a Timetable Management System. Integrated into IgnitionSuite, the system allows CDC staff to easily make changes to timetable information and have this information published to the website. Updates can also be scheduled and published to the site at future date. It features full version control functionality and gives administrators the ability to export and import data into the timetable.
